The unparalleled accuracy and reliability of our Precision Ground Shafts make them indispensable across a vast spectrum of industries. In the world of industrial automation, they are the backbone of robotic arms, linear actuators, and pick-and-place systems, where high-speed and repeatable positioning are critical. The machine tool industry relies on them as guide rails and spindle components for milling machines, lathes, and grinders, where rigidity and resistance to deflection under load are paramount. Beyond these, our Precision Ground Shafts are vital in the medical device sector for diagnostic equipment, in the packaging industry for high-speed filling and capping machines, and in the aerospace field for navigation and control systems. This broad applicability is a testament to our ability to provide both standard and highly customized Precision Ground Shafts tailored to the unique challenges of each application, whether it involves extreme temperatures, corrosive environments, or ultra-high-vacuum conditions.

Selecting our Precision Ground Shafts translates into a host of tangible benefits for your products and processes. The foremost advantage is the Guarantee of Dimensional Accuracy and Stability. Our rigorous grinding and finishing processes ensure tight tolerances on diameter, often within a few microns, which is fundamental for preventing play and ensuring precise alignment in linear motion systems. Secondly, our shafts exhibit Superior Surface Integrity. The exceptional surface finish not only reduces friction and wear but also enhances corrosion resistance, a property that can be further boosted with additional treatments such as hard chrome plating. Third, we provide Exceptional Straightness and Geometric Consistency. This is critical for ensuring smooth, stick-slip-free motion and preventing premature bearing failure, thereby maximizing the mean time between failures (MTBF) for your machinery. Finally, our commitment to Material Excellence means that our Precision Ground Shafts possess high hardness and excellent wear characteristics, often achieved through heat treatment or the use of high-grade materials, ensuring they stand up to the demands of continuous operation.

The most common materials are high-carbon chromium steel (like SUJ2/52100), which is hardened and chrome-plated for optimal wear resistance. For corrosive environments, stainless steel (such as SUS304 or 440C) is used, offering excellent corrosion resistance though with generally lower hardness than hardened steel.
These are international tolerance grades for shafts. A grade like g6 indicates a sliding fit, perfect for applications requiring precise movement with minimal play. h6 is a precision location fit, offering very tight tolerances for high-accuracy systems. The choice depends on your required balance of freedom of movement and positional accuracy.
